A Smaller Surprise

A little farther on, something waved gently in the current.

Long pale tentacles curled and stretched like a garden moving underwater.

Blu looked once and saw only the anemone. Then he looked again.

Balanced between the tentacles was a tiny cleaner shrimp, almost clear except for its delicate markings and bright little claws.

“Some of the reef’s best surprises are the smallest ones,” Blu said softly.
