Blu smiled as the little spotted drum stayed close to its coral shelter.
“We almost swam right past it,” he said. “The reef shows us more when we slow down and really look.”

Blu’s Reef Fact: Juvenile spotted drums look very different from adults. Young fish have bold black-and-white bands and extra-long fins. As they grow, their fins become shorter and dark spots appear across the body.
